Dental Implants and Immediate Tooth Replacements

Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. A person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that their teeth appear natural and that their facial contours will be preserved and they can eat a normal healthy diet. Patients with dental implants can smile with confidence. We are routinely replacing failed teeth with implant-supported teeth (frequently called “all on four”) type dentures. We usually support dentures with six implants.

Tooth Extractions

Under normal circumstances, your natural teeth should last for a lifetime with the right care. We will always try to preserve your natural teeth, no matter what issues they encounter; however, there may come a time when you need to have a tooth extracted in order to preserve your entire smile’s wellness. Tooth extractions typically come in two types: simple extraction, for teeth that are visible above the gumline, and surgical extraction, which involves removing teeth that still haven’t erupted. We’ll do everything we can to ensure that this process is comfortable for you, and we’ll be sure you’re adequately prepared for the recovery period.

Wisdom Tooth Removal

Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth and can often cause problems in adolescents and adults. When they align properly and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. However, most people simply don’t have enough room to accommodate third molars. As a result, wisdom teeth often become encased in gum or bone tissue, which can cause pain and pressure. Infection may also occur, which can damage the jawbone and adjacent teeth, creating a larger problem. If wisdom teeth do erupt, they typically crowd existing teeth. We have a skilled team to treat wisdom teeth anomalies, including anesthesia and careful and gentle removal of the wisdom teeth.

Corrective Jaw Surgery

Sometimes surgery is needed when jaws do not align correctly and/or the teeth do not seem to fit together or function properly. Teeth are straightened with orthodontics and corrective jaw surgery repositions a misaligned jaw. This not only improves facial appearance, but also ensures that teeth meet correctly and function properly.
