When it comes to dentistry, technology is a priceless asset; simply put, some of the new instruments and pieces of equipment coming out are absolutely incredible, and words can’t even express how they’re able to elevate the ways dentists can care for their patients. Here at Morgan Hill Dental Care, we’ve outfitted our office with some of the latest dental technology around, all in an effort to streamline care and improve our overall patient experience. To learn more about some of the advanced dental technology we use to care for smiles in Morgan Hill, continue reading below.

Digital Dental Impressions

The process of taking dental impressions has evolved over the years; what was once done entirely by hand using gooey, foul-tasting impression materials can now be completed in an incredibly quick and streamlined manner thanks to our iTero digital scanner. This device can quickly and comfortably take entirely digital impressions of your teeth, gums, and other oral structures. The virtual layout of your smile can be viewed and manipulated using special software before it’s then used to assist with treatment planning.

CT/Cone Beam Scanner

Our Carestream CBCT Scanner is another instrument that sees quite a bit of use here in our office, and it serves an important purpose: it lets us view every single part of your mouth in great detail! The device has an extendable arm that can rotate 360 degrees, meaning that it can scan and create a detailed map of your entire mouth’s anatomy. From there, it’s very easy to identify problems, plan out future treatments, and even point out to you what or where certain things are.

AI Diagnostic Tools

If you’re familiar with AI, short for artificial intelligence, maybe you’ve seen how it’s beginning to influence various industries, often alleviating tasks and making our jobs (and lives) easier. But did you know that it can be used in dentistry to aid in the detection and diagnosis of various dental conditions? AI-powered X-ray image analysis is an incredible asset and integral part of what we do here at Morgan Hill Dental Care, and we’re excited to see how this technology will continue to serve us and assist you with maintaining lifelong happy and healthy smiles!

Intraoral Camera

When it comes to dentistry, there’s often a need to take a closer look at certain areas within the mouth – and as amazing as our dentists are, they don’t have supervision! Luckily, we have something just as effective: our intraoral camera. This is a specialized, wand-like instrument with a digital camera on one end that’s connected to a nearby digital monitor. We can aim and point the camera towards different parts of your smile, making it easier to identify potential problems as well as accurately plan future treatment.
